HOTELS

Hotels in
& around Gangnam.

Something special.
Or somewhere simply comfortable.

The lunchtime ceremony is at The RAUM, 564 Eonju-ro. Ten options across Gangnam, neighbouring Seocho and Jamsil, grouped by style and relative price. Each has a hotel link and a route to the ceremony. The evening reception is at a different, still-to-be-confirmed venue, so don’t assume one transfer will cover the whole day.

Where to start

Yeoksam & Seolleung: compare Josun Palace, AC Hotel, Shilla Stay, L7 and Hotel NewV for a base around the ceremony side of Gangnam.

Make more of your stay: Park Hyatt suits the COEX area; SIGNIEL offers a Jamsil stay outside Gangnam, while voco is on the Sinsa side. Hilton Garden Inn and Toyoko Inn broaden the search into neighbouring Seocho.

Plan your travel preparations ↗

High end

For a stay that feels like an occasion.

Yeoksam · Teheran-ro

Josun Palace

A luxurious base with city views, an indoor pool and several dining options. A good fit if you want the hotel itself to be part of the occasion.

On the Yeoksam side of Gangnam. Compare its location with The RAUM when choosing your wedding base.

231 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Samseong · COEX area

Park Hyatt Seoul

A refined option at the Samseong end of Gangnam, convenient for a stay that combines the wedding with the COEX area.

By Samseong Station. Plan a separate journey to The RAUM rather than assuming all Gangnam hotels are beside the venue.

606 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Jamsil · Songpa-gu · Outside Gangnam

SIGNIEL Seoul

A luxury stay high above Seoul in Lotte World Tower, for guests who want sweeping city views and time exploring Jamsil.

Located in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, rather than Gangnam. Allow extra travel time to The RAUM and plan your wedding-day transfers before booking.

Lotte World Tower, 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Mid-range & boutique

Comfort and character, with rates that can overlap the luxury options.

Seolleung · Teheran-ro

L7 GANGNAM by LOTTE

A contemporary lifestyle hotel to compare if you want a comfortable Gangnam base without choosing a luxury property.

Useful for the Seolleung area and exploring along Teheran-ro. This is the Gangnam property, not L7 Myeongdong or Hongdae.

415 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Yeoksam

AC Hotel Seoul Gangnam

A contemporary Marriott option in Yeoksam for guests who want a polished hotel base around Teheran-ro.

A useful comparison with L7 and Shilla Stay. Check room size and included facilities for your chosen category.

10 Teheran-ro 25-gil, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Sinsa · Dosan-daero

voco Seoul Gangnam

A stylish option on the Sinsa side of Gangnam for guests who want to combine the celebration with neighbourhood cafés and shopping.

Its location offers a different base from Yeoksam. Compare the route to The RAUM before choosing.

144 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Yangjae · Seocho-gu

Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam

A practical international-chain alternative on the Yangjae side of the wider Gangnam area.

In neighbouring Seocho-gu, south of The RAUM. Choose it for the overall stay and rate, allowing extra travel to the ceremony.

253 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu
Seoul, South Korea

More budget-friendly

Simpler stays and value-focused alternatives. Compare live rates for your dates.

Seolleung

Hotel NewV

A practical hotel near Seolleung Station, worth comparing for guests prioritising location and value over a luxury resort-style stay.

Check the room category, cancellation terms and breakfast inclusions for your dates before booking.

6 Seolleung-ro 85-gil, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Yeoksam · Eonju-ro

Shilla Stay Yeoksam

A straightforward alternative on Eonju-ro, the same road as The RAUM. Worth checking alongside L7 and Hotel NewV.

Compare the actual walking or taxi route to the venue when deciding where to stay.

517 Eonju-ro, Gangnam-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Gangnam-daero · Seocho-gu

Toyoko Inn Seoul Gangnam

A simple business-hotel option to compare when keeping accommodation costs down is the priority.

In neighbouring Seocho-gu. Check room dimensions, bed configuration and cancellation terms, and plan transport to The RAUM.

323 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu
Seoul, South Korea

Booking your stay

No wedding room block or negotiated rate has been confirmed. Compare live rates, taxes, breakfast and cancellation terms directly with each hotel. September 2027 prices and availability may not yet be released; the categories above are relative positioning, not quotes.

Keep your Seoul room for the nights of 3 and 4 September. Allow a buffer for traffic and ask the hotel to help plan your journey once the ceremony time is confirmed. Details for the transfer to the evening reception will follow.

BEFORE YOU GO

Useful things
to know.

A few small preparations.
A much easier arrival.

From everyday etiquette to getting online, here are a few things to help you feel at home in Korea.

01

A little consideration goes a long way

Korean customs

A small bow or nod is a friendly greeting. Use two hands when giving or receiving something, especially with older people. Remove your shoes when entering someone’s home or a space with a shoes-off sign. Follow your host’s lead at the table.

Seoul’s etiquette guide ↗
02

At the table

Dining & tipping

Tipping is not customary. When sharing a meal, use serving utensils where provided. Holding your glass with two hands when someone pours is a polite gesture. If you do not drink alcohol, a simple, polite decline is fine.

Korean dining etiquette ↗
03

Set up before you land

eSIMs & staying connected

Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM before buying. Compare the plan’s duration, data allowance, hotspot rules and activation instructions. Check whether it is data-only or includes calls and a Korean number. Physical SIMs and airport collection are alternatives. Follow the provider’s instructions on when to activate.

Official SIM & connectivity guide ↗
04

Two useful downloads

Maps & translation

Install NAVER Map for finding places and planning journeys, and Papago for Korean translation. Save your hotel and The RAUM before travelling, including their Korean names and addresses. Download Papago’s supported offline language packs in advance so you have a backup without mobile data.

Official travel app guide ↗
05

Getting around Seoul

Transport & Tmoney

A Tmoney transport card is a convenient option for local buses and the subway. Tap in and out, including when leaving a bus. Carry some Korean won for physical-card top-ups; payment options vary by card and machine. Check the route to your exact destination, because Gangnam covers a large area.

Transport card guide ↗
06

A practical backup

Money & small purchases

Bring a payment card enabled for overseas use and a small amount of Korean won for transport top-ups and small purchases. Check your own bank’s foreign transaction and withdrawal fees before leaving. Do not rely on a single card or mobile wallet for your whole trip.

Transport payment information ↗
07

Pack the right adapter

Plugs & charging

Korea uses 220V electricity at 60Hz and sockets with two round holes. Bring a compatible travel adapter and check the voltage range printed on each device’s charger. A plug adapter alone does not convert voltage. A power bank is useful for long days using maps and taking photos.

08

Keep these evenings free

Around the wedding

Plan to be in Seoul for tentative welcome drinks at Bar Oom on Thursday, 2 September. Saturday, 4 September is our wedding day: a lunchtime ceremony at The RAUM followed by an evening reception at a different venue. Dress code: formal. Exact times, the reception venue and transfer details will follow.

Our plans together ↗

Travel information checked in October 2026. Recheck providers and official guidance before your September 2027 trip.

GETTING READY

Your travel
to-do list.

From the first booking
to your first evening in Seoul.

Work through these preparations in your own time. Tick items off as you go. Ticks are temporary and reset when you reload this page.

01 / Start here

Before you book

  • Check the requirements for your passport, nationality and transit countries. Confirm whether you need a visa or K-ETA for September 2027 before committing to travel. Current exemptions may change.

    Official K-ETA website ↗
  • Pick a Seoul or Korea itinerary. Aim to arrive by Wednesday, 1 September to settle in before tentative Bar Oom drinks on Thursday, 2 September. Keep Saturday, 4 September free for both wedding events.

    Compare the itineraries ↗
  • Check arrival dates carefully on overnight flights. Reserve accommodation covering the welcome-drinks evening and the nights before and after the wedding. Compare cancellation terms, total prices and airport transfers.

    Explore the hotels ↗
  • Choose cover suited to your trip, activities and personal circumstances. Review cancellation, medical and baggage cover, and save your insurer’s assistance contact.

02 / Get the essentials sorted

A few weeks before

  • Reply individually for each invited guest and include any dietary requirements. Check this site for confirmed event times and the evening reception venue.

    Send your RSVP ↗
  • For longer trips, arrange your onward hotels and check when train reservations open. Allow for luggage and station transfers, and finish with a night in Seoul before your flight home.

  • Check device compatibility and whether your phone is unlocked. Compare data, calls, hotspot use and plan duration. Save the installation instructions and follow the provider’s activation timing.

    Connectivity and practical tips ↗
  • Install NAVER Map and Papago. Save your hotel and wedding venue addresses in Korean and English. Check overseas card fees and organise a small amount of Korean won.

03 / Pack and double-check

The week you travel

  • Recheck official guidance for your travel dates. If an e-Arrival card is required for you, submit it within the official filing window. The current window begins three days before arrival, based on Korean time; verify this again for 2027.

    Official e-Arrival card guide ↗
  • Keep offline copies of flights, accommodation, insurance and entry documents. Plan the airport-to-hotel journey for your arrival terminal and time, and confirm late check-in if needed.

  • Bring formal wedding clothes, suitable shoes, comfortable walking shoes, a light layer and a compact umbrella. Check the forecast shortly before departure.

  • Bring a Korea-compatible two-round-pin adapter and check device voltage compatibility. Check airline battery rules and any Korean import requirements for medicines you carry.

04 / Settle into Seoul

Once you arrive

  • Activate your mobile plan as instructed, check your maps and arrange a transport card if useful. Keep the hotel address available offline.

  • Thursday, 2 September: tentative welcome drinks at Bar Oom. Saturday, 4 September: lunchtime ceremony at The RAUM, then an evening reception at another venue. Confirm timings and transfer arrangements here before setting off.
